A very good friend and mentor told me the other day. “Wow, I have learned how to detach from the outcome!” To her, this was one of the most liberating moments in her life. As she is spiritually well attuned, and wise, I thought it strange that she would only achieve this now. Not that I have achieved it, by any means. So, my thoughts was judgemental.
Everything that we want in this life, is a valid desire. Be it a relationship, to engage in a certain activity or just plain money. These are desires that sustain our emotional and physical needs. So, they are valid, in that it will provide us with sustenance, or a way to survive this unkind harsh world we inhabit.
However, we will only succeed in manifesting these desires if we truly trust. And the only way we can do it is by detachment. Detaching means that you already trust that the outcomes will be synchronous with the intention, need or desire. However, herein lies the big risk of the Law of Attraction.
We learn in the ground breaking book, The Sectret, that anything we desire can truly be ours. We all saw the video presentation, in which phycicists and psychics confirmed this. Suddenly we now had access to the secrets of abundance and manifestation. But the book itself neglected to mention that our intention has to be for the good of Self, and all those around us.
The Law of Attraction works. Period. What you put out there in thought form will manifest. But what does the thought form represent? What is it that we want? Will it be beneficial for all those in the personal environment, and those not? Are we going to create hardship for Self and others as a result of this need? Will it affect Mr A ors Mrs C in such a way that it will create hardship for them? And ourselves? Are we going to be able to maintain this need, with integrity? Will we create a karmic condition for ourselves?
Ego-interference is always present when we express a need or desire. Not that the ego-self is all bad. It is not. It can sometimes guide us into a space of beauty, guide the outcomes to be beneficial for all. Quite frankly, we need the ego. We cannot do without it. It is our survival tool. However, the ego needs to be passified, to be more in-tune with our emerging spirituality. It needs to aid us, instead of leading us to the edge of self sabotage. And this we can do, by re-creating the ego space to be more aligned to the Spiritual Self.
When we put a desire into the ethers, either though our own thoughts, or by asking the Higher Self to intervene, we need to be specific. Spell it out. The Law of Attraction cannot be held responsible for our free will or desires. So we need to be specific in what and why we want something. Almost like self-interrogation, we need to practice Introspection in the Now. We are then able to “edit out” the bad parts, and clarify the intention. Once we have done this successfully in our minds, we are then ready to let it go into the ethers for manifestation.
Then there is only one more thing to do. Detach from the Outcome – through Trust. And ensure that what you desire will have integrity viz a viz needs, desires and pure intention, and will not impact negatively on those around you.
